Neerad's (Babblu) House

Babblu's house I'm doing only in pictures......it's really like this piece of art, set in this most picturesque surrounds. Even in pictures it's tough, as it's on stilts and multi leveled and stuff.

That's a massive lava rock that sits in front of the house

The drive way in...but I seem to have got more leaves than driveway

The porch

Senaka playing the piano....it's so beautiful to watch his little fingers move so dexterously over that keyboard. I love listening to him sing a Hawaiian chant....and the fact that he's learnt to call me 'athaa' ..that's personal trivia :)

The dining area...with a Marion, Aparna, Jimmy and Sailesh

Bablu's music corner

Sahana and Surya engrossed in something

Bablu has two goats, that's them in their shed

Sailesh making us some coffee.....he's the most gourmet coffee maker I've known

Kids play room

Franny at the center with Surya, Ann (her mom), and me.....at this wonderful dinner spread they had for us.....chicken enchiladas, quesadillas, some exquisite salad, and tortillas with cheese. It was so yummm.

On the porch....nammu and bablu at far end

From the porch

Some arial (plants whose roots don't need soil but get their nutrition from the air) plants he grows

Us with Jimmy, nammu's friend who came all the way down from Chicago....it's now tradition that he's part of family

Loved how well color coordinated they were.....Franny, Ann, Sahana and Surya

Bablu's study

The guest room

Aunty and me on the porch

A pond in his backyard, where they even go swimming

A cousin bunch.....Sailesh, Nammu, Me and Bablu (R to L)

Bablu has been in Hawaii over an year now, and he says he still has so much work to do on the house. He's just great with houses, actually does a lot of the building work himself, like with his own hands....that so amazes me.

While this one was bought and he's doing stuff on it, I understand that he built his LA house himself....like he with the help of another friend. Hoping to see that soon.
